About Me And My Romance With Jewelry Design

My name is Ady, which in Hebrew means: "Jewel".
The word Ady actually comes from the Old Testament:

"I adorned you with ornaments: I put bracelets on your arms, a chain on your neck, 12a ring on your nose, ear-rings in your ears, and a beautiful crown upon your head. 13You were adorned with gold and silver, while your clothing was of fine linen, rich fabric"(Ezekiel, 16).

I always remember myself as a child, being creative and constantly busy cutting, constructing and experimenting with scissors, glue and paints.Despite my name, I did not know where my life will lead me.Only after I finished my compulsory service in the IDF did I begin to create jewelry and it was then that the whole subject of jewelry design began to slowly become close to my heart. When I had to make a career decision, it was only natural that my love for jewelry leads me to want to acquire an education in this field in order to master the fine art of jewelry design.

During my studies at Shenkar design and engineering school, I spent most of my energy not only in mastering the Classic Jewelry Method but also in learning other techniques such 3D design, computer aided design and other computer based technologies as well as working with various different materials : ceramics, wood, plastic and more. I was surprised to discover that I had high technical capabilities and the ability to work hard and long hours at the jeweler's table.

However, all along my mind was excited and intrigued by the industrial world, computers and developing new technologies, which led me and inspired me to explore the computer world.

At the end of the second year of my studies, it finally hit and I made a solid decision to focus mainly on 3D computer aided design. This decision was an easy one to make, since I feel that things do not simply happen, they happen for a reason! ... And these things, for example the things that let me toured the computer world, and 3d design are what governs us the selected way by others or some force from above. From that point on, my computer design capability significantly and substantially improved.

Even before I began my undergraduate studies I thought the world of computers was a large and very important part of our lives as well as in jewelry design. My personal experience over the years and what I learned in Shenkar just reinforced my beliefs and paved the way to enable me to continue to design jewelry and accessories through the aid of the computer.

May we all find the way and the niche in which we suitable, qualify and that we love.
